Beauty within and without

Hey everyone!

So tonight I wanted to pen something that has to do with BEAUTY within and without.  Really, it is the struggle of a woman's attempt at being beautiful.  Some of us possess beauty from within and some of us are without beauty at all...  inside or out.  My 15 year old daughter once shared her personal experience and thoughts about the beauty of a woman to me.  How she understands that many woman possess beauty only on the outside but not from within...  and how ugly that is.  This is something I've always known and felt...  but to hear my daughter say or elaborate the theory of this to me was something of an amazement to me.  I found it incredible how wise and mature my daughter sounded when she shared this with me last year, so when she was 14 or maybe it was a little after she turned 15 last March.  All I know is that what she had to say about it was so true and inspirational to me.  I was so very proud of her that day.  She really understood that a woman's beauty is something that one can see from her eyes, her smile, her soul, her spirit...  and from her heart.  NOT the beauty that graces us from the cover of a fashion magazine or a celebrity sighting.  NOT the beauty that is apparent in a young woman but slowly hides itself as a woman ages.  There is a saying by an unknown author that says, "
The average woman would rather have beauty than brains, because the average man can see better than he can think".  Isn't it true though...  there are so many young ladies these days especially that are so fragile and insecure on the inside, but on the outside...  pile themselves with makeup and brand name clothes and enough perfume to suffocate anybody within any distance close enough to breathe the same air she shares.  Designer clothes, bags, shoes, highlights in the hair, and every other beauty regimen one can imagine that exists.  NOT to mention the countless plastic surgery options available to any young woman these days.  And if a woman is secure enough within herself, then any surgery would only enhance her beauty from within, but if a woman is vain and insecure on the inside, then no matter what they do on the outside, it will not help her to appear more beautiful or feel more beautiful.  Here are some quotes taken from www.great-inspirational-quotes.com, I hope that my intended thoughts and opinions come through crystal clear in some of what my fellow authors point out so poignantly.  When you speak to a wise woman, do you see her inner beauty glowingunderneath the weathered and wrinkled face? When you play with a child,do you feel warmed up by the beauty of innocence?

"
Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.

Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.

Pretty is something you're born with. But beautiful, that's an equal opportunity adjective.

Some people, no matter how old they get, never lose their beauty - they merely move it from their faces into their hearts.
-- Martin Buxbaum

That which is striking and beautiful is not always good, but that which is good is always beautiful.
-- Ninon de L'Enclos
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, nor touched ... but are felt in the heart.
-- Helen Keller

The difference between pretty and beautiful is-pretty is temporal-whereas beautiful is eternal.
-- Author Unknown

You can take no credit for beauty at sixteen. But if you are beautiful at sixty, it will be your soul's own doing.
-- Marie Stopes

Keep your beauty within you and leave the rest to your soul and spirit...  and it will shine through like no other ray of sunshine you have ever experienced.

Love,

Me
